Therapy from someone who works with ADHD every day. A Registered Social Worker on the Finding Focus care team offers cognitive behavioural therapy and ADHD coaching by video or phone, working from the same record as your assessment, so there is no starting over.
For adults 18 and over who are physically in Ontario at the time of the session. Therapy is not a crisis service: if you need help now, call or text 9-8-8, or call 911.

Since September 2026, therapy is part of Finding Focus rather than a referral to another clinic. You pick one of two tracks when you book. Cognitive behavioural therapy is for the worry, the low days and the spirals that so often travel with adult ADHD. ADHD coaching is for the routines that never seem to stick: mornings, deadlines, email, money, the admin of life. Both are delivered by a Registered Social Worker, one to one, in 50-minute sessions by video or phone.
What makes it different from booking a therapist elsewhere is the record. Your therapist can read your assessment report, your screening measures and your medication information before your first session, and the clinician who prescribes for you stays in charge of medication. Therapy does not replace that relationship; it works beside it. Questions about a dose or a side effect still go to your prescribing clinician, and your therapist will say so.
Sessions are $149 and up, paid one at a time, with no membership and no minimum number of sessions. Your receipt shows the Registered Social Worker designation and registration number that extended health plans ask for. Whether your plan reimburses is your plan's decision, so the fees and insurance page walks through how to check before you book.
Choose CBT for mood, worry and the thoughts that get in the way, or ADHD coaching for the practical structure of your week. You can switch tracks later; the [CBT page](/therapy/cbt-for-adhd/) and the [coaching page](/therapy/adhd-coaching/) explain what each session actually covers.
Your therapist works from your Finding Focus chart. You decide at intake whether therapy notes are added to your general chart, where your other clinicians can see them, or kept in the therapy record only.
Receipts carry the RSW designation and registration number. Many Ontario extended health plans reimburse social worker psychotherapy under a paramedical or mental health benefit; your plan decides, and we show you how to check.
Therapy is booked through the Finding Focus portal, under Therapy & ADHD coaching in the menu. If you are already a patient, sign in. If you are new, create an account first.
Choose CBT or ADHD coaching, then a time that suits you. Sessions are booked and paid one at a time, in advance. Follow-up sessions are booked with the same therapist.
Sessions are 50 minutes. You will be asked to confirm where you are physically located before each session, because your therapist may only practise while you are in Ontario.
There is no set number of sessions and nothing renews automatically. Many people start weekly or every two weeks and space sessions out as things settle.
Therapy fees
Sessions from $149
Paid per session, in advance, with no membership and no minimum. The fee shown at checkout is the total charged and includes any applicable tax. Psychotherapy from a Registered Social Worker is exempt from GST/HST; a session booked as coaching may be taxable.
Fees, receipts and insuranceTherapy is booked through the Finding Focus portal, so you need a portal account. If you already have one from an assessment, sign in and choose Therapy & ADHD coaching. If you are new, you create an account first. Your therapist can read whatever records exist on your chart, and works without them if there are none yet.
Choose CBT when the problem is how you feel and think: worry, low mood, shame, spirals, avoidance. Choose coaching when the problem is what happens in your week: routines, deadlines, admin, follow-through. If you are not sure, start with the one that describes most of your bad days; the tracks share a therapist and you can switch.
No. A therapist does not diagnose ADHD or any other condition, does not prescribe or adjust medication, does not carry out psychological testing, and does not write reports for school, work, insurers or legal matters. Diagnosis stays with your assessing clinician and medication stays with your prescribing clinician.
Your receipt carries the Registered Social Worker designation and registration number. Many Ontario extended health plans reimburse social worker psychotherapy under a paramedical or mental health benefit, and some plans list social workers as a covered provider. Your plan decides, so check your booklet or call your insurer before you book. Coaching is usually not reimbursed.
Right now your therapist may only practise while you are physically in Ontario, so sessions are not available if you are in another province, in the territories, or outside Canada, even temporarily. Finding Focus assessment and ongoing ADHD care remain available in the other provinces it serves. See therapy outside Ontario for the routes that do exist.
Only if you agree to it for that particular session, and you can decline with no effect on the session. With your consent, the recording is transcribed on Finding Focus equipment in Canada and used to prepare a draft note that your therapist reviews; the recording is deleted once the draft exists. Nothing from a session is used to train AI systems.
